Hello…

It has been ages since I last came here. Haha. The last time I posted was during Chinese New Year, in Muar. That was months ago. A mixture of laziness and busyness has caused the abandonment of my bloggie.

I was so busy, I had to stay in campus for 9 consecutive weeks. That is my new personal record. I know, its not something big, but its a long time for my standards.

For that 9 weeks, I didn’t go for my haircut. At that time, I didn’t feel it was long, but it was. Everyone who saw me instantly noticed it. I got many comments ranging from ‘you look like you are wearing a helmet’ to ‘like girl’, to ‘cute’. Definitely a highlight in my uni life…

A LOT of things have happened since my last post. So many, I kinda lost track of what they were. Most recently though, was a Penang Trip, also with Uni friends under a society named IET. Nice… Will blog bout it the da next post…

Look out world, Here comes Malaysia!!!

Yes! Finally. Lotus F1 Team has unveiled their 2010 Formula One World Championship contender at the Royal Horticulture Hall in London, on the 12 of February.

Its called Lotus T127. As you can see, its green, with a nice yellow strip running down the centre. Although not as striking as Ferrari’s scarlet red, or Mclaren’s shining chrome, it still looks great.

I was relieved when I first saw the design, because I was afraid the car would turn out in some sort of yellow, like the A1 Team Malaysia car. Bluek… Ugly. Haha.

So, we have the name ‘Malaysia’ written all over two Formula 1 teams next year. Very Cool. Great promotion for us. Still dare to say Malaysia is an unknown country? Haha…

Lotus is a HUGE name for the 1Malaysia F1 team to carry.

Hope Malaysia don’t put it to shame…

Keep up the good work! All the best to Lotus in re-conquering the F1 world.

20 years old.

Last week was my birthday (26th January). I would like give a HUGE thank you to everyone! Thank you to those who planned the night, thank you also to those who came that day. Really Really Appreciate it. Muacks!!!

We had dinner at a place called Lao Di Fang. Not really a restaurant where everyone would go to celebrate Birthdays. Since there wasn’t fancy restaurant that we haven’t to recently, so, we decided to go somewhere different for a change.

Not really an ideal place to have a gathering. Since it was a just a normal shop lot and there were 19 of us, it really felt cramped. And with a big crowd, comes the loud noises we made. I guess we kinda disturbed the other customers. Haha.

The food, was so-so. And the serving lady with a mood didn’t make it any better. But in my opinion, the food or the restaurant isn’t that important. What really matters to me is us friends and the time we spend together,  and it is because of that reason I had a great time.

After dinner, we went to the GoGo Jetty for a drink and feel the relaxing seaside breeze. We chit-chatted, played games, and had drinks. Real nice atmosphere. By the way, I had 2 bottles of Heineken. Haha.

After a hanging there for a while, there were ‘surprise’ visits by Jun Hao and Ping Sheng. It was a ‘Surprise’ because, they were suppose to appear without my knowledge. But all thanks to Ping Sheng, I already knew. Haha.

Right after that, Yi Yong brought out the cake. Wee!! And all the standard Birthday procedures began.

DSC03866

Oh Ya. Not to forget, it was a birthday celebration for Tammy too! I am 3 days older than her. Hers was on the 29th. So, everyone sang the birthday song twice. Once for me, once for her. Haha.

After the song singing and cake blowing, We received our presents. Although I personally asked for my present not to be bought (for financial and convenience purposes) they still went out to get one for me. Thanks all.

After all that, I still got the last surprise of the night. A beautiful little birthday card. Half of the card is painted in white, in the middle, was many white paint patches cleverly dapped using a paint brush, while the other half is green with little sprinkles of white paint.

On the inside, wrote many cute little birthday wishing scribbles from my best friends.  In the front, wrote “Happy Birthday to you”,” Best Wishes From”. Finally, on the back of the card, was a little signature signed in silver. Haru. Haha. Thanks Haru. Really well done. Nicest birthday card I ever received.

I went with Jun Hao, Ping Sheng and Jan Fei to play a few games of pool while the rest left for home. I surprise myself in pool.. I didn’t know I improved so much. Haha! Awesome.

Also, That night, I did one of the toughest things I have ever done. It really really was hard, but I managed to do it. =)

18078_273170469747_703924747_3356320_4646534_n To finish things off, here is a wonderful picture of us all. I like this picture a lot. Has a really happy feel to it. Sweet! Haha. Thanks Again!!!

One last thing. Yesterday (3rd February) was my mother’s birthday. I would like to wish her a wonderful birthday. Love you Mom….

Don’t know who is Utada? You must know her!!! Haha.

28 : Here It Goes Again

Its already the last week of my trimester break. A quick recap of the things I did in the past few weeks.

  • Week 1 : Entertain Friends from Malacca.
  • Week 2 : Entertain myself at home.
  • Week 3 : Meet up with some old friends.

In other words, I hardly did anything. I wanted to go somewhere so that I will feel I have spent my holidays well. Initially, there was a plan to go Genting Highlands on Week 2. But I didn’t work out.  T.T

Still, it wasn’t too bad. I managed to squeeze time out from the this week to go to Singapore to do some New Year shopping with Weei Jier, Sabrina and Tian Lai. Although we walked for hours in ION Orchard, 313 @ Somerset, and Bugis Junction, I only managed to buy a T-Shirt and a Pant (EXPENSIVE!!!). Still, I am satisfied. Haha.

Besides, I already did some Chinese New Year shopping with my parents in Tebrau City. So, no need to buy too many.

Most of my time at home was spent on completing Grand Theft Auto 4 and Need For Speed : SHIFT. Give them both a 8/10. Fantastic games.

Probably the best part of this holidays is getting the chance to sleep when I want and wake up when I want to. No schedule to follow, no alarm clock to disturb my sleep. SHIOK!!! Haha.

But all of that is about to end. A new semester is just about to start. Haiz, here we go again

27 : 2009 —> 2010

So, 2009 has ended. And what a way to end it. Haha. I had a wonderful time ushering in the new year with my old buddies from SMK Taman Molek. We celebrated in the newly opened Karaoke shop behind my house called ’Crazy Mike’.

The price? Rm45 per person. From 9pm till 1am. Another Rm40 for bringing in our own Martell cognac. Divide that with 10 people, gives 4 bucks. 45 + 4 = 49. So, I spent 49 bucks on my new year celebration. The Martell was kindly sponsored. Haha. Totally worth it.

Crazy Mike even hosted some games to play just before the stroke of midnight.

Photo251

Right after the games, the countdown began. Before we knew it, 2009 was over. The moment the countdown reaches zero, the fireworks outside went off. Awesome. I was too busy enjoying the show myself, I didn’t take any video/photos. Haha. Sorry.

There were also other strange and bizarre party games. One included shoving a string attached to a  spoon up our clothes. We won that game. See our hamper in the picture above? That’s me on the far right. Sorry for the blurry picture.

Me and Elaine.

We left only around 2, with me feeling light-headed from all that alcohol. Don’t get me wrong. I wasn’t drunk. Lightheaded and drunk are two different things. I could still walk and think straight. It felt great. Haha!

It was the second time I drank till I was in this state. The last time was exactly one year ago, in Malacca, during 2009 New Year celebration. That celebration was a totally different story from this one.

Anyways, It was a fantastic start to the new year for me. Hope more happiness will come to us all in the coming years. May we strive  and achieve all our wants and wishes for 2010. All the best from me to all my friends and family.

Oh ya.. I noticed my blog has exceeded 500 viewers. Cool. 5 months, 500 views. Average a hundred viewers a month. I feel thats not bad. Haha

26th : Johor Bahru trip.

The past week was great for me. Not only did I finished my exams, I also had my MMU friends come over to JB. Wei Keong, Jan Fei, Kim San, Yi Yong and Qiao Hui all paid me a wonderful visit.

We all departed for JB on the 23rd of December 2009 at 3pm. Just hours after our Materials Science finals paper. The journey took  3 hours. By 6pm, we arrived in JB.

JB was a place that all of them has either never been to before, or haven’t been in a long time.

Since I live here and all, they decided to come over.

There was a reason to why they never/seldom came to JB. I believe it was because, there was little things of interest here.

So, they before the trip, they kept asking :

“Wen Jun, is there anyplace fun in JB?” “Is there anyplace to play in JB?”

I couldn’t find an answer to those questions.  As much as I wanted them to come, I didn’t have much ideas for them. Except going to Tebrau City or City Square. Sorry guys.

Honestly, I was afraid I would disappoint them. Nervous. Fortunately, It didn’t felt so bad on the day itself. Haha.

In brief, I brought them to Tebrau City, City Square, The Zon. Brought them to eat at some of my favourite places. And even accidently across the causeway. Sorry Guys/Gals.

Wei Keong, Kim San, and Qiao Hui left on the 25th. Leaving Jan Fei and Yi Yong to stay for another night.

After I sent the 3 of them off, we went to Danga Bay on the request of Jan Fei since wanted to buy a fridge magnet souvenir. So, we went to a souvenir shop. He didn’t manage to find one. Still, Yi Yong did manage to ‘secretly’ buy me a Christmas present.

Thank You. I cant remember the last time I received a Christmas Present.

We even woke up early the next morning to wash my mom’s and sister’s cars. Haha.

Thank You also to everyone else for spending your time and money to come visit me. Really Really appreciate it. I had a lot of fun. Honestly hope you all would come again.

25 : Kuala Lmpur/Genting

I want to share my past week trip to KL and Genting Highlands. I went during the Hari Raya holiday which fell on the 27th November.

For the first time in many many years, I went up the KL Tower. The view from the tower’s observation deck 1 was amazing. I could see the entire KL city.

Photo167 World’s Tallest Towers :

  1. CN Tower, Toronto, Canada (553 Metres)
  2. Ostankino Tower, Moscow, Russia (540 Metres)
  3. Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai, China (468 Metres)
  4. Milad Tower, Tehran, Iran (435 Metres)
  5. Menara Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (421 Metres)
  6. Tianjin Tower, Tianjin, China (415.2 Metres)

As you can see, the KL tower is the 5th tallest tower in the world. Not bad.

Photo180

There was also a mini zoo located below the tower. We went there after coming down the tower.

Photo192 This trip was a good opportunity for me to put the camera on my new Samsung Innov8 phone to work. All the above pictures are taken using my phone. FYI, the Innov8 is equipped with a 8 megapixel camera. Haha.

Of course, I did also used my standalone Cybershot camera. Haha…

That night, I had my dinner in Suria KLCC. Kinda forgotten which restaurant was it. But it was great. At Chinese food.

I went up Genting on Saturday. As predicted, there were a whole bunch of people up there. The queue to rides long. I really enjoyed the Corkscrew roller coaster. The best ride was the flying coaster because there was no queue at all. Plus, it was very fun.

Things up there are crazily expensive. A simple snack for 3 cost me RM52. How about ‘Lok Lok’? You will need to fork out RM4.50 per stick to enjoy that. Outrageous. That’s slaughter.

I did see a ‘All-You-Can-Eat’ buffet dinner for RM20 per person in First World Plaza, but the queue for it was as long as the one you would find in the theme park.

Lastly, I had the chance to catch a live stage show entitled ‘Dazzle : A mystifying Journey’. dazzle01It was the first time I watched a live stage show. So, it was great. The show was filled with dances, comedy acts, and magic shows.

There was even a part where a man uses his hands to make very nice shadows. I was too hooked up to the show until I forgot to take any videos. However, I found this preview clip on the net. You will know after watching this. Haha.

24 : A good day…

20th November, a nice day… I had my engineering graphics 1 mid-term test a while ago. I believe I will do quite well. On course to get 4.00 this semester… Haha…

Also, managed to hand-up Malaysian Studies research project on time. I was very satisfied with the end result our paper. Would like to thank my team for a job well done. The trip to Portuguese Settlement was fun. By far, this is the fun-est assignment to date. Haha…

Thats not all… I finally solved my Handphone Crisis today… I bought my dream phone. The almighty Samsung Innov8. Gone are the days where I would think hard and long on which which phone would be my next.

I you have read my previous post, you will have an idea about how powerful this phone is. Also, in that previous post, I know I said “N97 mini’, here I come.” I changed my mind due to financial reasons. Haha.

The Samsung Innov8 I bought pre-owned. A year old, but in pristine condition. I spent RM800 on it. A new model would cost, get ready for this, RM2000 – RM2100+. (RM2399 if you refer to the eRing magazine).

Very satisfied with it. Let me show it off… Haha…

The D900 was Samsung’s 2006 flagship (Most Geng… Haha) handphone. For 2008, yup, you guessed it… The Samsung Innov8.

DSC03272

DSC03269 DSC03273Oh Ya.. Did I mention that I am a Samsung fan? Haha… Thought that you might figured it out by now… Done enjoying… Haha… The next mid-term test is on Monday… Back to work…

23rd : Puchong-Sunway

6th November : Today, I went for a field trip to a solar factory in Puchong. Woke up 7.30am in the morning. If it wasn’t for Wei Keong calling me, I would most probably have overslept.

My alarm rang at 7am. As usual, I woke up, only to stretch out my arm to grab my phone so that I could switch the alarm off. I managed to get ready and rush to MMU’s roundabout before the bus left. The bus was full.

At 8+am, the bus took off. At around 10, we arrived at our location. A factory called SDC (Solar District Cooling) which specialises in manufacturing and researching Solar products.

We attended a 2 hour long briefing and lecture about what and how their products works.

To be frank, the speeches were boring and not very informative as they spoke very technically. It was like they were trying to sell their products to us.

They could have made it shorter and easier for a bunch of first-year degree students to understand.

Still, I manage to learn something. A brief idea about how their stuff works. After all that, the staff brought us for a tour of their facility.

After the tour, we were treated to a simple buffet lunch in the factory.

At about 2pm, we headed to Sunway Pyramid. The fun part of the trip. (Probably the main reason most of people the people came on this ride.)

When there, most of the people went straight to the ice rink. Including us.

I believe we all had a great time at the rink. First timers Wei Keong and Yi Yong were obviously frightened with the ice.  Yi Yong needed more help then Wei Keong though. But they were both very fast learners. With some help, they went from being overtaken by people, to overtaking people. Haha. Really enjoyed helping. They both became more and more confident on the ice.

Wei Keong was asking more at the end of the day. Although Yi Yong didn’t really admit liking it, i could see in her face she had a great time. For me, Jan Fei and Kim San, we were more experienced and had less trouble on the ice.

I even learned some new tricks myself. Like learning now to stop. Haha… I did fall once, and now my knee is slightly bruised. No matter. I enjoyed it a lot.

By 7pm, the our bus arrived o bring us back to MMU and call it a day. I hope for more times like this in the near future.

More pictures of us.
